Kemi Sokenu-Morris is an accomplished leader and change-maker, currently serving as the Chairperson of the Executive Council at the Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria (SPIN). Kemi brings to the table over two decades of experience administering sustainability, youth empowerment, community development, impact investment, and advocacy programs for a diverse range of institutions, including state governments and corporations. Professional Journey and Achievements

Kemi’s journey in the realm of sustainable development and impact investment has been marked by notable accomplishments:

• The OOA Foundation: As the CEO of the Oladiran Olusegun Adebutu (OOA) Foundation, Kemi has been at the forefront of combating poverty among orphans and vulnerable youth in southwestern Nigeria. Over the past six years, the foundation has made a profound impact, touching the lives of 3000 vulnerable women and 300 youths & children. Through innovative programs encompassing education, employment, physical and mental health interventions, Kemi and her team have transformed 500 low-skill self-starters into entrepreneurs.
• Recognition at Stanford University Africa Business Forum: Under Kemi’s leadership, the OOA Foundation received the prestigious Stanford University Africa Business Forum award in 2017. This recognition underscores her dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and sustainable growth in underserved communities.
• Contributions to Safe Blood for Africa Club 25: Kemi’s contributions to the Safe Blood for Africa Club 25, a PEPFAR funded program, have set the national standard for youth blood donation eligibility. Her work in teaching youth to lead risk-free lifestyles has been replicated across the African continent.
• Engagement in International Development: Kemi’s passion for international development has taken her to various corners of the globe, from Argentina to Hong Kong. Her insights and contributions to discussions on sustainability, youth empowerment, and community development have resonated on the international stage.
• Senior Special Assistant– Projects, Ogun State: Kemi’s experience includes serving as the Senior Special Assistant– Projects in the Office of the Governor, Ogun State, Nigeria. Her role involved spearheading critical projects that have contributed to the state’s development.
• Corporate Social Responsibility: Kemi’s expertise extends to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). She established the first-ever CSR Unit at the First City Monument Bank and has worked as a Consultant to the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) on the UN She Trades initiative and with USAID on the Safe Blood for Africa initiative.
• Leadership Roles: Kemi currently serves as a Board Member with Ave Maria Development Limited, Nigeria, and as an Advisory Board member of Hospital for Humanity Foundation, Atlanta, USA. She is also an accomplished project development consultant, committed to providing strategic leadership and sustainable influence for international and local organizations focused on CSR, social justice, sustainability development, and investment initiatives.

Kemi had the privilege of participating in a thought-provoking discussion at the #UNGA side event, co-hosted by the The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), UNICEF Generation Unlimited, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The event focused on the future of the global economy, with a significant spotlight on Africa’s role, particularly the vibrant youth. The discussion delved into critical topics surrounding growth, opportunities, and aligning aspirations with the younger generation’s dynamism.
